Kew Gardens, New York
A well traveled couple was looking to give their outdated guest bathroom an overdue facelift. Inspired by classic Parisian cafes, as well as old New York style, we went with a classic and timeless look.
The main color scheme is black and white with classic traditional fixtures in a brushed nickel finish. The mosaic floor was a labor of love to select. There are many classic black and white mosaic patterns, and it was important to our client that although it be a classic pattern, it should still look special and not be one of the more commonly used patterns. This white dogbone pattern with black squares scattered throughout fit that description!
The backsplash over the vanity counter is a continuation of the chair rail molding, and pops up over the sink area, which allows the black and white marble countertop to be another focal point in the bathroom. The rolling shower doors with stainless steel hardware add a slightly modern and industrial feel to the space. Finally, a wall mounted, fold down teak shower bench offers convenience and a touch of wood to the room.
