Studio D Interiors | Art Collectors Home on the Hudson
This was a new build home of 5,000 SF, for a family of four. The goal for our client was to bring light and airy Hampton’s living style, into their new home in Woodmere, NY. We used a very soft, modern palette of grays and whites throughout the home, with pop’s of accent colors such as teals and soft blues.

Art Collectors Home on the Hudson

Riverdale, New York

This fully renovated bachelor pad started out as a small project, just to move some existing furniture from our clients apartment in Westchester to his new home in Riverdale with breathtaking views of the Hudson River. Although the new space was in decent shape, it was important to him to bring his own vision to life here.

Almost immediately, we began setting a course to renovate this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment starting with the new floors into a new floor plan, layout, and gut renovation of the kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

Redefining the living room and the flow of the apartment allowed for more wall space to display our clients art collection. Opting for bold blue walls in the living room instead of gallery white, emphasizes the water and sky blue views, while adding a warm and inviting vibe to the space. We complemented his existing furniture with new rugs and accessories to complete the space.

A television was required in the living room, so to compliment his existing artwork, we opted for the Samsung Frame tv to blend in better with the art. Speakers were also placed throughout in order to achieve great sound quality for this music lover.

To keep the space fresh, we designed a classic white kitchen to compliment the blue living room. Custom cabinetry, beveled soft grey backsplash tiles and a continuation of the new wood flooring to keep an open plan feel, created an understated elegance for the space.

For the guest bedroom that doubles as a home office, and guest bath, the goal, was to add some fun pops of color. We opted to stay with the blue theme for wall colors, but in a brighter shade. That brighter blue was then highlighted with red and orange accents in the furniture and accessories.

The master bedroom suite is a moment of zen for this busy law professional. The room is bathed in a soft, warm, grey palette. The master en suite bathroom is a classic New York design with a black and white dog bone mosaic floor, subway tiles and pedestal sink. A custom cabinet was designed to maximize storage.
