MIXING APPLIANCE AND HARDWARE FINISHES

10 TIPS ALL ABOUT KITCHEN FIXTURE AND APPLIANCE FINISHES!

Sometimes you love the look of mixing finishes together. They create a more artistic, eclectic feel to the room. And in other circumstances, you may not have a choice but to mix your finishes, depending on the fixtures and appliances you choose.

Here are a few tips to mixing them so that the room as a whole still works, and doesn’t end up looking like a mistake!

1.) TIP ONE: Organize Them By Category:

Appliances: Usually Stainless Steel, Black or White, but lot’s more options are coming to the market in colors like Bronze as well as bright colors like red or blue. A few good guides to follow for your appliances are:

  • Keep them all the same regardless of the cabinet hardware and plumbing fixtures you have. If these all match, it will help the room look more unified.
  • If, however, you are going with a bolder finish such as red, blue or another bright color, you may consider just using that on the main refrigerator, as not to overwhelm the entire room. Then the rest of the appliances such as the range, oven and microwaves can match in a more neutral finish such as stainless steel.
